Specific Responsibilities Would Include:

Overall Responsibilities 

The position of Specialist, Logistics will report through the Manager of Origin Logistics and will frequently collaborate with other business groups to ensure goods are effectively delivered.  This position will have significant responsibility coordinating and directing the movement of inbound container freight and air shipments for all Centric Brands divisions, spanning multiple countries, DC locations, including direct to customer orders.

 

  1. Establish and maintain effective communication as liaison between internal customers, booking agents, our ocean/air carriers (direct and 3rd party) & factories.
  2. Be proactive and work in advance of upcoming exports/imports.
  3. Understand/track/record and report on each available option for lanes supporting our business you touch and oversee.
  4. Proactively look for best options available within allocation matrix provided by management.
  5. For any/all shipments (Ocean, Air, Parcel), showcase options available, highlight/suggest our recommendation and why for any/all shipments.A.Knowing Cargo Ready Dates, and required receipt at DC dates to showcase it will fit into the window we require. B.Note Transits on carrier websites shown may not be accurate, we should plan on accurate transit days per SAP lead time.
  6. Use different external web sites to effectively understand options and performance levels.
  7. Run reports to supply visibility and proactive communication to/from our divisions.
  8. Ensure shipments (all modes) leave timely and continue moving through any potential transshipment ports.
  9. If/when issues with a booking occur, quickly find best alternative options given ready dates and ability to load/unload cargo and communicate with appropriate teams noting impacts in clear/concise manner
  10. Troubleshoot and diagnose in-transit issues for the division assigned all ship modes.
  11. Document, update, and follow and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures established to achieve high levels of quality services.
  12. Support timely booking of shipments with booking agents, internal customer production teams and factories.
  13. Assist with foreign origin shipping exception cases: Container Utilization decisions, PO ship window and destination deviations, and consolidation opportunities across suppliers/ports etc.
  14. Proactively resolve ocean and air transit time and booking questions and issues when they arise.
  15. Prioritize daily workflow according to company’s priorities and needs.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field required is preferred.
2. 2-4 years’ experience in analysis, planning and international logistics.
3. Experience in Export/Import Supply Chain with an understanding of Import (US, Canada, EU) Compliance protocols is required.
4. Must demonstrate understanding of the supply chain and inventory management, including common obstacles and effective solutions.
5. Data analysis and data visualization competencies preferred.
6. Strong English written and verbal proficiency is required.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word and Excel) .
8. Knowledge of SAP systems preferred.
9. Flexibility to work overtime, adjusted hours, or occasional weekends.
