Overall Responsibilities
Production & Quality Control
• Purchase Order (PO) Management: Issue POs to factories and material suppliers, ensuring all details (style, quantity, price, delivery date) are correct.
• In-Line Production Monitoring: Regularly communicate with the factory's production team to track progress, identify potential delays (e.g., material shortages, machine breakdowns), and solve problems in real-time.
• Quality Assurance (QA): Implement and oversee a rigorous quality control process. This often involves:
• Communication Hub: Provide daily/weekly updates to internal teams on production status, potential risks, and solutions.
• Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, and sample yardages, providing actionable feedback to suppliers and internal teams
• Maintain and optimize the material chart, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation for seamless cross-departmental reference.
• Proactively monitor sample material availability, troubleshooting delays and ensure on-time delivery to support the bags & belt Development & Production team.
• Serve as the primary liaison with mills, tracking production progress, resolving issues, and fostering strong vendor relationships.
• Provide leadership and support to the bags & belts Material team, ensuring efficient workflows and knowledge sharing.
• Manage production for bags and belts across Cambodia and China
• leading WIP report for all global handbag and belt production, including operations in India and Bangladesh.
• Attend Weekly Production meeting with NY team, QA/QC & Vendors,
• Attend Ad-hoc meeting with cross functional team
• Follow up Root & CAP accompanied QA/QC, if any issue on production.
• Follow up Claim and Debit note and communication with vendors.
Post-Production & Logistics
• Issue Resolution: Address any production or quality issues that arise after goods are received in the warehouse.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze production data, including cost variances, delivery performance, and quality failure rates, to improve processes for future seasons.
• Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with factory partners. Evaluate factory performance at the end of a season.
• Evaluate Vendor’s Performance and Score card
Communication & Team Development
• Guide and manage the sourcing communication for business stream.
• Closely follow up on critical path with team and solve problems (if arise) in the process.
• Ensure that day-to-day review is made on feedbacks received from team members on various issues including production status and corrective actions are taken in time.
• Guide and keep track of team to manage the whole process pre and post order placement ensuring quantity, quality, order specification and delivery dates are achieved.
• Help team members find ways to test new ideas efficiently through rapid prototyping and view innovation as a journey that may involve many turns.

Additional Requirements
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of handbag construction, leather, PU, PVC, Fabric, hardware types, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and understand tech packs is essential.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for spotting stitching defects, color discrepancies, and hardware imperfections.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and find practical solutions to production delays, material issues, or quality problems.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage relationships across cultures and time zones.
• Software Proficiency: MS Office (especially Excel), PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
• Experience: Typically requires several years of experience in merchandising, preferably specializing in handbags, leather goods, or footwear.
• Proven working experience in merchandising
• Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising/design
• Up to date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
• Knowledge of Handbags Belts manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, Excel
Language Proficiency
• Good English communication skills, both written and oral
