Specific Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Handle the end-to-end merchandising process for Caps & Gloves from product development to final shipment, ensuring the right quality, competitive pricing, approved vendors, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate product development activities including sourcing, sample development, costing, and commercial evaluation to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Support and lead costing analysis and price negotiations with suppliers to achieve target margins while maintaining product quality and compliance standards.
  • Oversee the sampling approval process and ensure timely submission and approval of development samples, lab dips, bulk fabric color submissions, trims, and quality standards.
  • Follow up T&A (WIP) on a regular basis, ensure reporting on-time delivery regularly.
  • Maintain regular communication and coordination with buyers, suppliers, factories, and internal cross-functional teams regarding production status, development updates, shipment plans, and delivery schedules.
  • Negotiate prices, capacities, lead times, and order quantities with suppliers and factories to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Maximize customer interest at margin levels.
  • Build constructive customer/supplier relationships and teams with channel partners.
  • Ensure vendors and factories schedule all required inspections on time and resolve any issues identified during the inspection process.
  • Ensure factory makes vsl/space booking with forwarder/shipping line and handover cargo/goods on time.
  • Coordinate with factories, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to ensure vessel booking, space allocation, and timely cargo handover for shipments.
  • Time to time reporting to business leader as per requirements.
  • Take care of any Ad-hoc projects (Vendor compliance/documentation).
  • Communicate with buyers/Merchant teams on a regular basis to provide up-to-date info regarding the status of production and shipment of garments.
  • Identify and diagnose production problems and work with suppliers to present alternatives to buyers and line seniors.
  • General administrative work as or when required.

Additional Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in merchandising, with substantial exposure to Accessories (Caps, Gloves, Bags, Headwear, and related products) in a buying house, sourcing office, or manufacturing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of accessories product development, manufacturing processes, material sourcing, trims, embellishments, packaging, quality standards, and production techniques for caps and gloves.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Fashion, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong vendor management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and team-oriented mindset.
